And I've Never Been To Boston In the Fall

But I have been in the dead of winter and, man! is it cold! We had the fun opportunity to visit Lauren, my beloved friend and roommate from BYU, over New Year's Day. We went along with Sarah and Josh LeMonte, (Sarah also being a beloved friend and roommate and fellow Delawarian). It was quite a full house. A one bedroom apartment with 5 adults, a 20 month old, and a dog. Whew!

We spent New Year's Eve eating ourselves sick and playing games. Our mostest favorite was Golf and Charades. This charades was no ordinary charades. It lasted 3 nights! Boys v. Women. And the final winner? Women! Ya, that's right!

We spent one day in Maine. Let me tell you something about Maine. It should shut down for the winter. We went to a beautiful light house but the wind was positively biting! It was clear and beautiful, but no place for a little girl who won't wear her mittens.

We spent another day in Boston. I have always wanted to go to Boston! We saw Faneuil Hall and gratefully the Asians did not disappoint. One nice man told me that, "she [Alyssa] is much more attractive than that man (pointing to the park ranger giving a little shbeel about Faneuil Hall and such)." I don't think I have been to a historic site without some comment from an Asian. Love them to pieces, really.

We walked along the Freedom Trail and saw Paul Revere's house and the North Church. (I didn't know what it looked like so I started taking pictures with another building...until Lauren stopped me. I was wondering why the LeMontes were facing the wrong way in their picture!)

We stopped at Mike's Pastry Shoppe and had cannoli and Boston Creme Pie.

Alyssa was an awesome carmate. We only stopped once for lunch both on the way there and on the way back. That's about 4 hours of driving, a break, and 4 hours of driving again. We were impressed with her car endurance! She had lots of things to keep her busy though...as you can tell...like markers and her face as a writing surface...ooops :)
