Nursery Rhymes for 'Lyssa

We are happy to announce that Alyssa is literate!

Well, maybe not completely literate, but almost literate. We have a little book of nursery rhymes that I can set her down in front of and she will read for 10 - 15 minutes. I still have to turn the pages for her and she mostly just likes the pictures, but it's a step in the right direction!

(Notice the hands in this picture. She is always clasping them together now...they're no longer just fists!)

We also memorized a poem...

Keep a poem in your pocket
And a picture in your head
And you'll never be alone
At night while you're in bed.

The little poem will sing to you
The little picture bring to you
A dozen dreams to dance to you
At night while you're in bed.

So keep a picture in your pocket
And a poem in your head
And you'll never be alone
At night while you're in bed.

The End (of the Poem)

We are starting to get a movin'. I want to leave now because then I wouldn't be playing the waiting game and I wouldn't be in Las Vegas anymore, but it's good to wait. Patience is a virtue! We got a ReloCube to move our stuff in. If you a comment on this, make sure it is positive. It is a 6' x 7' x 8' storage pod thing that we are going to cram all of our stuff in and have shipped across the country. You may laugh but it will be done! We hope it makes it and we hope all of J-U-N-K...I mean precious personal belongings can make the trip, too!

Less than a fortnight left in Vegas...

Then Salt Lake (& Josh Groban)

Then Texas (& the Archibalds)

Then Knoxville (& Alyssa's future husband)

Then Newark (& Noah's Ark and all his animals)

(With a few other places in between!)

(Oh, and one cockroach didn't comply with staying out of my house, but he was mostly dead when I found him. I vacuumed him up to finish the job, sucker!)
