Sharing Candy

Today Alyssa said, "Can you eat some candy with me really quick?"

Sure! Why not?

So she we shared together the joy of eating a Starburst. And she was proud she shared.

Today was Sally's day

Alyssa unearthed a bunch of stuffed animals this morning. Among them was a small beanie dog. Alyssa named her Sally and then took her everywhere. She went on a walk with us, with a leash, "walking" almost the entire time. She came to the store and played outside. It is odd and highly entertaining how these things come about. It keeps me smiling, so I will just be grateful!

This is like one of those paparazzi photos of celebrities!

Temple day

This weekend we had temple day on Saturday. Alyssa drives to Baton Rouge with us and then she and one parent gets to do fun things in the area while the other parent is in the temple. This time I got to go to the swamp with her. We saw turtles and some snakes, which gives me the willies. We also went for a hike. The weather was perfectly lovely! It was such a fun day!

Looking up...

at the trees!

Some people sport pens in the pocket, Alyssa prefers carrots!

It is not always easy taking Alyssa to the temple with us. It makes the day really long. But her testimony of the importance of the temple is growing each day and she is always excited to go!

He's a jalous guy!

Alyssa: "He's very jalous with his mustache on."
Emily: "Oh, you mean jealous?"
Alyssa: "No, Jalous. Jalous means cute. He's a jalous guy!"

These are direct quotes for Alyssa as she colored Elmo! Alyssa is starting to make up words when she doesn't know what else to say, and it is the makings for very entertaining conversations.

We spend 95 % of our free time coloring these days.

Painting is her element.

This is the beginning of the bat creation witnessed in the previous post.

It ain't all bad, y'all

Today is beautiful! Absolutely gorgeous. Aside from no nap from a certain 3 year old, the afternoon has been lovely.

We are sitting outside enjoying sun and shade. Alyssa is singing a typical medley of songs including "the wheels on the bus" and "the music time is over". She is talking to her baby and pumpkin bat and lining up toys.
It's mm mm good!
